BERKLEE PERFORMANCE CENTER CONCERTS April 19 Sning %3 THE BERKLEE COUNT BASIE AND THAD JONES ENSEMBLES The Count Basie Band, under the direction of Gary Solt, presents its third Berklee Performance Center Concert featuring arrangements by Sammy Nestico, Billy Byers and Frank Foster. The second half, directed by faculty member Ed Tomassi, will feature compositions and arrangements by Thad Jones. REEL 6 -THE 1983 BERKLEE FILM FESTIVAL - Don Wilkins, Chairman of the Film Scoring Department at Berklee, presents the annual Berklee Film Fest, an evening of award-winning shorts with scores composed, performed, edited and recorded by Berklee students and faculty members. ANANDA - Original wmusic in a contemporary latin, jazz style is presented by Claudio Ragazzi and his quintet. THE REGINALD LOFTON CONCERT - Composer/drummer Reginald Lofton offers an exciting evening of many musical styles including funk, rock, pop and reggae. THE BERKLEE JAZZ ORCHESTRA - Directed by Herb Pomeroy, this is the most prestigious ensemble in the college in a program of contemporary Big Band music. THE BERKLEE JAZZ CHOIR IN CONCERT - Directed by Steve Prosser. From pop to rock to jazz, latin and folk, this concert will feature a cappella arrangements of music by Toto, Earth, Wind and Fire, The Kings Singers and Don Ellis. GUITAR NITE VII - Guitar Department Chairman, William G. Leavitt presents an evening of guitar music including jazz, classical, country and rock.
