BERKLEE PERFORMANCE CENTER CONCERTS FALL 83 STICK AND MOVE: Otis Lewis and The Soul Dukes vs. The Punch Band - An evening of soul music and funk performed by local favorites Otis Lewis and the Soul Dukes and The Punch Band, under the direction of percussionist Wes Narron. EIJI YAMAGUCHI WITH HIS HONEYS - Student guitarist Eiji Yamaguchi leads his small ensemble through a program of original fusion composed by members cf the group. Double Concert: 1IN THE THICK OF IT/IN THE NAME OF LOVE - Student vocalist Brigette Beech offers a program that includes funk, laiin and jazgz originals. The second half features student saxo- phonist James Mosley, Jr. and his octet. THE STYLES OF "LA TROPICA" - In &heir 8th concert in the Berklee Performance Center, faculty trumpeter Edgard Nevarez and student trumpeter Tommy Villariny lead their nine- piece ensemble 'La Tropica' through an ex- citing concert of latin/jazz/rock and Afro- Antillian rhythms emceed by Jose Masso, the host of WBUR-FM's '"Con Salsa' show. DESIGN - Senior pianist Niels Lan Doky will lead an all-star faculty and student group in a program of original and contemporary Jatin and jazz composSitions. PAINTED BIRDS - An exciting coencert of original funk and fusion by the group "Painted Birds'" will be led by senior guitarist Alex Merck.
